Course Description
The course will cover:
Knowledge
- Understanding the difference between native, indigenous and EVC plants
- Creating a sustainable, low maintenance garden
- Reading your site and plant needs
- Creating low cost, high impact indigenous gardens
- How your backyard garden can conserve biodiversity
- Encouraging biodiversity in your backyard
- Understanding the key elements of a habitat garden

What’s the investment?
- 9am-3pm workshop is $150 a ticket
- Class sizes are capped at 16 people to ensure quality learning & engagement
Learning doesn’t stop when our workshops stop. We have created a Workshop Members Portal that will give all workshop participants access to the resources we refer to, including weblinks and files. You can come back at any time and refresh your knowledge or take a deep dive into the content
We have also made a Workshop Forum available within the portal so you can stay connected after the workshop. The forum aims to create a community of learning and support through providing a platform where you can:

Trainer Profile
Sarah has been working in the conservation industry for over two decades and has gained a broad range of skills, knowledge, and experience. She has held roles as a Ranger, Environment Officer, Consultant, Bushland Contractor, and Indigenous Nursery Manager. Sarah has extensive knowledge of indigenous plants, their propagation, and their use in restoring degraded landscapes. As a consultant, she used her diplomas in Conservation & Land Management and Organic Agriculture to help farmers plan and implement Conservation Farm Plans.
Sarah is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others benefit from habitat restoration. When she’s not training, Sarah works for Conservation Indigenous Plant Nursery.
